Knock on wood...

And usually that little saying sums it up. When ever my kids get sick and I think ill take them in to be safe, it most likely ends up being the flu or virus they can do nothing about. I am always glad to hear that but at the same time annoyed. Not the case this time. Last Friday I took Dakoda in for his 5 year check and shots and 3 hours later he was fevered and down. I figured it was just the shots. Then Gage started to fever the next day and throwing up. They both fevered for about 4 days. Then on Tuesday I started to fever and by Wednesday I was down for the count. I had my first ever case of strep throat. Let me just say that I have a whole new sympathy for those that get this. It flat out sucks!

Now it has been a week since all this has started and I am finally feeling good and what do you know Koda has started a fever again and has a sore throat. His tonsils are the size of golf balls, no lie! I take him in he has strep. I get home and Colt has started to fever and he has strep! Gage, knock on wood does not have it. I almost hate to say this out loud because I swear that is what got me in this situation in the first place. As we were leaving the Dr. office last Friday for Dakoda 5 year check I was telling him how we have made it through this last year pretty dang healthy. Right then and there I wanted to eat my words!

And where is Clint when all of this is going on.....down in sunny Florida! That is another funny thing. Right before he left we were having a conversation about how nothing ever goes wrong or happens until he has to go on the road. Knock on wood again!!

I had to write this whole experience down cause this week has been crazy. And also to look back and remind me of all the joys of motherhood:-). All I can say is I am sooooo Thankful for my mom and dad who are right next door they have been the biggest help! And to the many bottles of Tylenol and Motrin.....and to my DVR full of shows that I am now finally caught up on!

UPDATE** So yeah I spoke to soon because last night (Monday) Gage fevered once again and I took him in sure enough STREP! Im thinking I need to ship Clint back out cause I dont think I can handle him getting it!

SO GOOD.....

My mom and I decided to go see what the buzz what about the movie that is sweeping all the award shows! I must say it is worth every award it has won. It is crazy to me that this is rated R for the life of me I can not figure out why it is. I have seen pg13 stuff worse than this. You will feel every emotion you have watching this movie. It is SO GOOD!

The ABC's of being thankful...

I get these emails all the time. The getting to know you kind. I got one like this and after seeing it on Hils blog I decided to do mine here and not an email. So I will have it here to remind me what I am so thankful for. The big and the little things...


A. Achievements. Its such a good feeling when you work hard for something and getting it accomplished. Especially when you see it for your kids

F. Family and friends. The most important thing on my list. I have so many amazing people in my life. Faith that everything will be o.k. especially when times get tough.

I have a lot to be thankful for. I love this time of year because I think every one is more giving of themselves than any other time of the year. I love the feeling of peace and love the holidays bring. I can honestly say I think of someone or something I am thankful for probably every day. Even the days I am not feeling so thankful. Sick again and again and.....

Honestly when is it going to end?!? Just when I think we are over whatever it is that is in the air someone else gets it! Clint has been sick all weekend and the guy is never sick. In the eleven years we have been together I have never seen him throw up and he rarely takes medicine.
So when he is asking for stuff I know he is sick. Dakoda has had this cough/runny nose I swear since February! He will get this nasty cough then it will go away for a couple of Weeks then it comes back. I am taking him back in today and I swear they better give me the miracle drug! Now Gage has started. Really, WHAT THE #@$%!!! So far Colt and I are going pretty strong (knock on wood). Because I do not know how much more I can take...
